The Social Studies Classroom (Aula d'Estudis Socials - AES) is a non-profit organization whose goal is the training of professionals, students, children and society in general, in all sorts of social problems, significantly emphasizing the field of people with disabilities.
Promoting Investigation
The Association encourages found raising activities for the research of eye diseases and technological development that helps mitigate their consequences, not only in Catalonia, but in the entire world.
Our latest actions in this sense was to participate in the financing of a project of the Fundación del Hospital de Sant Joan de Deu to prevent retinopathy in premature babies. It is anticipated the detection and treatment of 30 babies each year, who, receiving adequate treatment, will keep a healthy sight in 90% of the cases, whereas, if the treatment, based on photo coagulation, was excessively delayed, this babies could become blind or seriously visually impaired.
