The Social Studies Classroom (Aula d'Estudis Socials - AES) is a non-profit organization whose goal is the training of professionals, students, children and society in general, in all sorts of social problems, significantly emphasizing the field of people with disabilities.
What we do
There are currently in Catalonia 10,000 blind people but 200,000 with low vision who, at this moment, are not receiving any psychological and social integration help or rehabilitation from the public administration or private organizations. These people have numerous problems due to their disability which vary according to the moment they were affected. It is not the same someone who is born blind, someone who becomes blind in adulthood or someone with low vision.
Our goal is to offer services to blind and visually impaired people in order to improve their quality of life and accomplish a better integration of the collective.
